Employment Contracts

Employment contracts are required in Chile and must be signed by both parties within 15 working days of hiring (or five days for fixed-term employees). 

The Chilean Labor Code mandates that employment contracts must contain: 

  • Place and date of contract

  • Nationality, birth date, entry of worker, address, and email address of both parties

  • Services provided and address where employee will work

  • Payment specifications including the amount, form, and frequency of payments

  • Working days and hours

  • Contract terms

  • Any other agreements

 Payslips

Payslips are mandatory in Chile and should detail wages and deductions. Payslips can be electronic or paper.
