Mission: CO/LAB (Creative Opportunities without Limits And Boundaries) Theater Group offers individuals with developmental disabilities a creative and social outlet through theater arts.
Project Proposal: CO/LAB Connect is a partnership program in which Teaching Artists travel to partners across the Tri-State area to provide theater workshops for individuals with I/DD. CO/LAB’s partners face barriers to accessing the arts in NYC due to inaccessible travel options, low staff, participant ratios, and budgetary constraints. CO/LAB answers this call by traveling directly to these organizations (residencies), creating a social experience lasting 10-15 weeks, serving over 250 actors with developmental disabilities each year. This grant would allow CO/LAB to subsidize at least 10 residencies, increasing access to the arts for adults with developmental disabilities.

Mission: Ubuntu Village NOLA is led by and works alongside those most impacted by systemic racism, violence, and incarceration. Instead of replicating systems of oppression, “we keep us safe” by mediating conflicts, connecting families to resources, creating spaces for healing and mutual support, and building power for long-term racial and economic justice.
Project Proposal: Integrated Navigation Services to End Arrest & Detention (INSTEAD) is a program at Ubuntu Village NOLA that heals families and communities holistically by offering rapid in-community interventions for individuals shortly after an arrest. INSTEAD offers alternative solutions to formal prosecution and incarceration by redirecting individuals from the legal system and pre-trial incarceration immediately into evidence-based community resources, facilitating their safe return to the community. Additionally, this program offers participants assessment, on-the-ground case management, resource navigation, and transportation services. This grant would help fund the program.
